A shocking dark pattern from Vodafone

I’m a Vodafone customer and unfortunately for them a UX professional too. So it was with some joy that I spotted this curious pattern on their website

It looks as if you can opt in and out of various data packages during the month. If, at the time of billing you have switched something on, you get charged. Text messages seem to confirm this.

But it doesn’t work anything like that.
