Is product management supposed to always push for schedule?

Is product management always supposed to do nothing but hurrying and pushing the schedule? Is there anything more realistic and beneficial to do besides only demanding people to go faster and faster? I feel like it helps nothing but only displaying the lack of capability.

What should be done instead when , in every product development, things get “behind schedule”?

Hi Pyllo,

UX and all teams should be included in the project planning during the pre-kickoff phase of every project. If you and your team is not consulted before the project plan is created, you will most certainly end up with deadlines you feel are arbitrary.

During my time as a producer, I have learned that even if the timeline is aggressive and cannot move, including all disciplines in the planning phase is critical.

I would consult with your direct report to better understand the planning process.

Good luck!
