Third party research tools for a security/privacy conscious company

#1

Hi there

I’m setting up a new UX research function and my company is Very Careful about security, data privacy, and customer privacy.

In short, I’m finding I need to convince them that I should be using 3rd party cloud based tools like Validately, Usertesting.com, Optimal Workshop, etc. For the moment, it’s me working on my own, so being able to set up unmoderated remote studies is fairly critical.

  1. If this has this been an issue for you, how did you handle it?
  2. Do you find some tools had more agreeable terms and conditions?
  3. What do larger organisations do with third party tools? We have budget, so that’s not an issue.

Thank you!
Lisa
